What to compare when you pay yourself

Ask for two prices: the care program and the pharmacy bill for your prescribed medicine, form and dose. Membership, appointments, labs and shipping can be separate. A published care fee is useful for comparing the service, but it is not the complete cost of treatment.

Circle Medical uses appointment billing, while programs such as Ro and Hims charge recurring care fees. PlushCare combines membership with separately billed appointments. Other services advertise lower monthly equivalents when you prepay or accept a minimum term. Compare the amount due now and the next renewal, rather than the smallest number in an advertisement.
