Sleep
A place to understand sleep care and investigate the research behind a claim, without choosing a treatment for you.
Where do healthy sleep habits start?
The NHLBI describes allowing enough time for sleep, a regular sleep schedule, quiet time before bed and a quiet, cool, dark room as ways to support healthier sleep habits. These habits are a starting point, not an explanation for every persistent sleep problem.

What does established insomnia care look like?
The NHLBI describes cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), a structured approach to sleep habits and thoughts, as usually the first treatment for long-term insomnia. It can be offered in person, by phone or online.

What about peptides mentioned for sleep?
Early laboratory findings do not replace studies in people. For a sleep claim, look for a human study measuring the sleep outcome being advertised, rather than assuming that a molecule name explains the benefit.

What should you ask before considering a product?
If a product is an unapproved prescription drug, it has not had FDA review for safety, effectiveness or quality. Check the specific product status rather than inferring approval from a research claim.
