What is healthspan?
Healthspan is the number of years you live in good health, free from chronic disease and disability. It's distinct from lifespan. The goal of longevity science is to extend healthspan so that the gap between healthspan and lifespan shrinks.
What bloodwork should I get annually?
Minimum: lipid panel (including ApoB), fasting glucose, HbA1c, complete metabolic panel, CBC, thyroid (TSH), Vitamin D. Consider adding: inflammation markers (hs-CRP), insulin, liver enzymes (GGT), and hormone panel.
What is rapamycin?
Rapamycin is an mTOR inhibitor that extends lifespan in every organism studied. Human longevity data is limited, but it's used off-label by some longevity enthusiasts. Requires medical supervision and has immune-suppressing effects at high doses.
What are senolytics?
Senolytics are compounds that clear senescent ("zombie") cells that accumulate with age and drive inflammation. Fisetin and quercetin + dasatinib are commonly discussed. Research is promising but human evidence is early.
